So one thing I have learned since moving to sunny SoCal is that my London winter wardrobe is pretty much useless except for just a fraction of the year and even then, only really in the evenings. Once in a while on a particularly chilly night I may get to bring out a chunky knit and wait for it…a scarf (!) but for the rest of the year my gorgeous long coats and chunky wool knits sit in the guest bedroom wardrobe collecting dust
Before coming to California I was well aware of it’s reputation as being home to the beautiful and healthy people…yoga and spin studios on every corner..juice bars and smoothie shops as far as the eye could see…
A friend here recently asked where my dress was from that day and upon my reply she said to me ‘English people are obsessed with Zara’. Well yeah!!
You may have gathered from my last post that I’m now a little bit…actually a big bit in love with New Orleans. The Garden District is a little West of the French Quarter and is full of beautiful old mansions and home to some excellent boutiques and restaurants along Magazine Street.
My favorite way to wear my stars is on my denim…as I always associate stars with more festive styling I err on the side of caution when dressing them up so I don’t topple back into Christmas 2016…casual styling is key here!
As California’s biggest storm of the season rages outside I am holed in my office at home drinking copious amounts of hot, delicious tea. The English way. There are many things I love about America, that is why I live here, however, one thing they consistently screw up on is tea. No, I do not want a slice of lemon or some honey with my tea, I do not have the flu, I want milk…and sugar (a dirty word in the OC).
K Beauty has become huuuuuge in the U.K. And I’m seeing the same thing here in the US. (K Beauty is the umbrella term for Korean skincare products and routines – and the packaging is just the cutest).
To say I am obsessed with this gorgeous silky slip maxi dress from Free People would be an understatement. Things are hotting up here in California and I am so excited to be back in dresses and summer prints. Maxi dresses have always been a firm favorite of mine and I feel like this style is the perfect balance of pretty and sexy.
Finally my favorite fashion time of year is here….the Spring 19′ fashion shows, pumpkin spice everything and then finally being able to wear boots, cute jackets and hats that aren’t made from straw.
Stuck on which shoes to invest on this winter?
